Outdoor Expert/Sales Associate

Outdoor Expert & Sales Associate

About Us

Ascent Outdoors started life in the mid ‘90’s as Second Bounce.  Over the past 25 years, the business has changed names, locations, and owners several times. Throughout all of these changes, one thing has remained constant: dedication to making climbing, backpacking, skiing & mountaineering accessible, enjoyable, and safe for everyone. In addition to curating the industry’s best gear, we offer ongoing training to our employees, ensuring they remain experts in their ever-developing fields.  Customers who come to Ascent Outdoors have the assurance that they will receive the best help in selecting the best gear to equip them on their upcoming adventure.

About you

We are looking for a bright-eyed outdoor adventure lover to join our team. You will be responsible for outfitting and educating customers, and helping build the Ascent Outdoors mission to provide high-quality, expert-selected, guide-tested gear and trustworthy knowledge to our community of climbers, mountaineers, skiers, backpackers, and outdoor enthusiasts. We are looking for someone who will help us build a customer base of loyal, like-minded enthusiasts who see Ascent Outdoors as a resource for friendly, knowledgeable, and honest advice.

About the Role

We need your amazing personality to help create a sense of friendly community and helpful expertise that keeps our customers coming back for more. You’ll spend time on the sales floor maintaining daily shop operations, helping the ship sail smoothly, and sharing stoke with our customers. Naturally, we hope you can help us match the right client with the right gear – but that doesn’t mean your job is to sell at any cost. We are educators as well as salespeople – learning and teaching as we go.
